Texas Treasures Letterboxing Event

Well, another letterboxing journey begins! I am headed to Bastrop, TX with my letterboxing buddy - Astro D to attend the 5th Texas Annual Letterboxing Event.
You can read all about our adventures by going to my blog - A Tall T.A.L.E. and you can learn more about the event by going to Silver Eagle's webpage - TX Treasures LB Event. We will be traveling from Santa Fe to Dallas, then Dallas to Austin. From Austin we will attend the event and then head for Houston and finally make our way to San Angelo before returning to Santa Fe. We are anticipating a great letterboxing adventure.

Two Year Letterboxing Anniversary

Today marks two years from the day I found my first letterbox. That letterbox was Silver Eagle's Santa Fe Trail Microbox at Amelia White Park. To celebrate, what else would I do - you got it - I went out letterboxing. The letterbox I found has been in place for a while but I didn't find the clues until a few months ago and then winter had set in and I thought it would be inaccessible.
Today I took my chances. I did have to hike a little ways in some pretty deep snow but the box was actually easy to access. The only problem I had was that it was a little frozen in place. My poor right hand was muddy and I got a few scrapes from the rock it was hidden under. Thankfully I found a sturdy stick and was able to work the box out of its hiding spot. I really worked hard to get this box but I am glad I did - what a great way to celebrate.

Touring Texas Slide Show

I made it home from my whirlwind tour of Texas. I spent part of the day going through all the pictures I took and I have put together a slide show. It came out a little long - I guess I took a lot of pictures. I made sure not to duplicate any of the pictures that were on the Touring Texas, Visiting Friends & Letterboxing blog. Click on the Texas image to view the slide show. I hope you enjoy all the pictures.
